This policy explains how 1001768665 Ontario Inc., operating as Cartlumen ("Cartlumen", "we", "us"), collects, uses and shares personal information when you visit cartlumen.com or cartlumen.ca, click our deal links, or contact us. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial and U.S. state privacy laws.
1. Information we collect

- Contact form and email: your name, email address and anything you write in your message.
- Email updates (if you sign up): your email address and your subscription choices.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data: pages you visit, links you click, the site that referred you, and the date and time of your visit.
- Device data: browser type, device type, operating system, language, and an IP address, which can show your approximate location (city or region).

Information from affiliate partners
When you buy something after clicking one of our links, the retailer or affiliate network sends us a report so we can be paid. These reports usually include the date, the store, the order value, the products or categories bought, the commission, and a tracking code. They do not include your name, address or payment details.
2. How we use information
- To run, secure and improve the site and our deal posts.
- To understand which deals and retailers our visitors find useful.
- To track affiliate commissions and reconcile payments from retailers and networks.
- To answer your messages and requests.
- To send email updates if you have asked for them. Every email has an unsubscribe link, in line with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
- To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations, and to prevent fraud and abuse.
We do not use your information to make decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects.
3. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:
- Service providers who help us run Cartlumen, such as web hosting, email and analytics providers. They may use the information only to provide services to us.
- Retailers and affiliate networks. When you click a deal link, you leave our site and the retailer or network collects information under its own privacy policy, including through its own cookies, to track the referral.
- Legal reasons: when required by law, or to protect our rights, users or the public.
- Business transfers: if our business is sold or merged, information may transfer to the new owner under this policy.
4. Where information is stored
Our service providers may store and process information in Canada, the United States or other countries. When information is outside Canada, it is subject to the laws of that country, and authorities there may be able to access it.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block affiliate cookies, the site still works, but retailers may not credit us for your purchase. Where the law requires it, we honour browser privacy signals such as Global Privacy Control as an opt-out of analytics and targeted-advertising cookies that we control.
6. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above. Contact messages are generally kept for up to 2 years. Commission and accounting records are kept for as long as tax law requires, usually 6 to 7 years. Then we delete or anonymize them.
7. Your rights and choices
- Access and correction: you can ask what personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it.
- Withdraw consent: you can unsubscribe from emails at any time and ask us to stop using your information, subject to legal limits.
- Deletion: you can ask us to delete your information, unless we must keep it by law.
- U.S. residents: depending on your state, you may have rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information or targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information. To use any right, email us.
To make a request, email hello@cartlumen.com. We will reply within 30 days and may need to confirm your identity first. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca, or the privacy authority in your province or state.
8. Children
Cartlumen is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you think a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
We use reasonable physical, technical and administrative safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make a significant change, we will post a notice on the site.
